Claudio joined the Department of Economics in January 2011. His main research interest is in mechanism design: the study and design of incentives in markets and organizations. After his doctorate at Oxford, and two years as a lecturer at the University of California-Davis, Claudio Mezzetti joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1990 as an assistant professor. In 1994 he was promoted to associate professor (with tenure) and in 1999 to full professor. In 2005 Claudio moved to the University of Leicester, and in 2007 he became the Leverhulme Professor of Industry and Organization at the University of Warwick. Claudio was appointed to professor in the Economics Department in 2011. Claudio has held visiting positions at the University of Queensland, European University Institute (Jean Monnet and Fernard Braudel fellow), Northwestern University, Université Catholique de Louvain, Padua University, Bocconi University, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, University of Venice, Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Université Paris 2.
